Great hotel n restaurants
It's mere seven rooms is enough to create the look and feel of the old hotel experience if you're lucky enough to get one. The rooms are spacious, authentically furnished with some period pieces and replicas. And yet it is completely modern with up-to-date wiring and internet access (I'm using it right now). Staying right in downtown Aberdeen is a treat. It's the Main Street that time forgot. It's no Galena, Illinois, but the look and charm is largely preserved. The hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places and the old-style switchboard is in plain view behind the front desk (albeit with some cleaning supplies spread around on it). The weekday AAA rate is just fantastic. And there is a nicely conceived "fine dining" restaurant on the main floor. Everyone is friendly. With only seven rooms, you start your conversation with the restaurant hostess and another staff member checks you in after making a drink for her bar customer. A lot of fun.
Love the architecture! The bartenders are super friendly and way courteous. I was very comfortable there!
We have been trying to get a return phone call for two weeks to confirm a reservation. Not impressed. We only rated atmosphere and decor as we did to give the benefit if the doubt.
